has got some of the best collections of artworks in Asia. Surely the
National crafts museum is proving to be the guiding light in the
development of traditional art in India. There is an interesting fact

where artisans from the entire country would gather and learn how to
preserve their traditional art in the era of globalization. Nevertheless
it actually became a place where artisans from all over the India
started exhibiting their art. Charles Correa, a French architect renowned for building mesmerizing museums, has designed this museum. It is situated in the Village complex, which among others has various forms of village habitat and housings on the display. Crafts Museum has slowly turned into a heaven for the traditional artisans and artworks. It has a permanent collection of over 20,000 items of folk and tribal arts, crafts and textiles from various parts of the country. It includes among others, lamps, chandeliers, lamp-stands, drapes, clay and terracotta pots, folk and tribal paintings, embroidered bed sheets and cushion covers, jewelries, cane and bamboo work in different galleries of the museum. You can buy any of these for mementoes. They are downright cheap and attractive.
